“I Am Who I Am”

Published on July 10, 2000

A man tries to change his name to God, but is refused by the judge. He decided to choose the name “I Am Who I Am” instead. This actually made me wonder if there were hardset rules on what you could and could not change your name to. While I couldn’t find any hard laws, I did find this site that lists general name-changing guidelines (for the US). Obviously, the man formerly known as Prince got around guideline #3, so they’re not completely set in stone.
