While reading last week’s C&EN magazine, I ran across an interesting quote from Amphora Discovery’s Nick Hodge, commenting on the mindset of a medicinal chemist. “I once read that the best way to describe a medicinal chemist is a compulsive gambler. Every medicinal chemist thinks that the next compound is going to be the one that hits the jackpot.” How true.
