As a devoted reader of news items on iserloh.com, you’ve probably noticed a slowdown in postings over the last few months. What’s going on?

I have been working on various projects, including a fundraising website for a girls’ orphanage in India, and a couple of websites for artists — all of these should be out of the door soon, so check back on iserlohdesign.com.


Disaster Preparedness

A recent Security Pipeline article by Rob Enderle stresses the critical importance of small business disaster preparedness. Recommendations include those related to Physical Security, System Security… Software Security, Security Maintenance and Security Services.

By the time small businesses start worrying about security, it’s too late. We ignore risk until threatened by an attack or natural disaster. If we’re lucky, the threat passes us by, and we fall back into denial. If we’re unlucky, disaster hits, and it puts us out of business.

Denial about security is self-defeating because the cost of loss is devastating. That’s especially true of small businesses, where profit margins are often razor-thin…

The time to think about preparing for a disaster or other loss is before the loss has occurred. It is not a trivial process.”
